Why Animas?
Animas High School was created to offer students in Durango, Colorado an alternative to the traditional American high school education. Billing itself as a college-prep school, Animas High aims to prepare its students for success in post-secondary school and beyond through rigorous academic curricula, strong student-faculty relationships, and a progressive project-based teaching model.
This website is meant to exhibit the work I’ve been doing as a pioneer of Animas High’s establishment. As with any start-up, the school is a work in progress, which makes for a unique educational experience on my end. At Animas, I’m allowed to take my education into my own hands, and ascend to scholarly heights that would have otherwise been unreachable by me were I to have opted to matriculate at a more conventional high school.
